Rachel Lemonik, Psy.D.
Dr. Lemonik is a licensed clinical psychologist who practices in Pleasantville, NY. Her treatment approach is practical, solution-focused, and strength based. She draws on a broad range of techniques to customize therapy to the individual. These approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), supportive psychotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness training, play and art therapy, and behavior management techniques. She takes an active role in guiding treatment and believes that the foundation of therapy is finding someone you can open up to and feel supported by. Dr. Lemonik strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where she and clients work together to reduce distress and develop treatment plans that will affect positive changes.
Prior to starting her clinical practice, Dr. Lemonik served as a staff psychologist and clinical supervisor at Jacobi Medical Center where she specialized in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families and provided training to psychologists-in-training. Dr. Lemonik earned her doctorate in clinical child psychology from the Pace University in New York and received advanced clinical and research training at a number of academic and mental health settings in the New York Metro Area, including Mount Sinai Medical Center, Blythedale Children’s Hospital, St. Peter’s University Hospital, Bronx VA Medical Center, Jewish Child Care Association, Briarcliff Manor Schools, and the McShane Center for Psychological Services.
